Notable Traits Proportional rat's tail (usually tucked under clothes). Unusual, insect-like joints (also usually hidden under clothes).
Other If your character has a keen sense of smell (or related), Kite may be reminiscent of a bug or at least something alien/not-human. In non-nerfed regions, if your character can sense aura (or life-force in general), eventually Kite is going to have, like, a ton of that going on.
Power Kite has the ability to conjure and later dismiss a random weapon out of nine preset options. Unlike her canon ability, Crazy Slots, they have the limitations of equivalent normal weapons. There is no chatty clown attachment, but there is a one in ten possibility that her roll will fail and nothing will appear.
HxH Vocab (with spoilers):
Hunters are a varied and elite group of people licensed through the Hunter Association after passing a rigorous and often lethal proficiency test. In their world, Hunters are afforded a wide variety of privileges including the right to kill without consequence and to enter most regions of the world, even restricted areas. All Hunters are proficient at Nen.
Nen is the manipulation/manifestation of a living thing's life force (or "aura") and is unique to the user. All living things have aura, but most people are unaware of it. Nen can be used to enhance attacks, shoot bursts of energy, or even conjure objects, and it can be developed and improved with practice over time.
Kite is a Chimera Ant, and I'll be playing her classification as: really shitty king ant. Chimera Ants practice a mode of reproduction where genetic material of consumed prey is incorporated into the biological make-up of the next generation of ants ("phagogenesis"). This volatile ability to evolve rapidly makes them very dangerous as they're liable to consume others to extinction. It was later found that certain ants retained the memories or personality traits of the humans that had gone into making them, so to speak.
General Info
Jul. 5th, 2015 08:25 pmIn appearance, Kite is a girl, maybe in her mid-teens, with a proportional rat's tail. In fact, she is a Chimera Ant. The species advantage comes with an animal splice, increased speed, stamina, strength, Nen-ability, accelerated maturation, and a taste for flesh. She also has a bit of exoskeleton she hides under her clothes along with, apparently, the tail. For very observant characters, I'm guessing her joints will move a bit differently than a human's, and of course, scent and whatever is a thing.
Spoilers for hunter x hunter canon.
She may, from birth, have particular influence over other Chimera Ants - if you're playing one, first of all oh my god, and second of all we can totally talk out the whole monarchy thing. By default, I play her as a King-type Chimera ant rather than a Queen or soldier. (If your junior biologist gets upset, I find it helps to think of them as aliens rather than mutant ants.)
Mentally, Kite is an adult with memories of life spent as a human man (I would say in his early thirties), but also a rich and immediate second childhood as a little ant girl. She has largely picked up the life her late counterpart left off, with the same name, friends (they are very understanding), and probably profession (contract Hunter). Some other differences:
Gender: I'm very flexible about the gender of Kite 2.0, so if you, opposing player, have a preference or concern, please shout out. Default identity will be fluid, pronouns will be she/her, and her attitude toward the change will reflect the non-issue one of canon. Again, subject to change and also your comfort.
Nen: Specialist. Body is a factor in Nen type and since the original Kite was a Conjurer, it seems narratively plausible and consistent, and also like a cool opportunity I'm not above taking.
Family: She was raised by a Chimera Ant soldier, Colt, which may mean she has a sense of home and family she didn't grow up with the first time around. The effect will be subtle since in some ways she's a grown-ass man, just one with two childhoods.

Kind of just going to... permanently park this here. Just as a note, I have a tendency to default to prose, so I'd really appreciate quicktagging practice.

It's not one of those hours you'd expect to find anyone in the common area, but oh look, you're here. It looks like you're not alone, either. Legs crossed and eyes shut, Kite looks for all the world like she might have dozed off on the couch, but there's a feeling of watchfulness if you're the sort to sense that kind of thing.
Sure enough, she soon turns towards you, eyes bright and alert, speaking softly so as not the wake the others. "Well, you're up late. Or early. Working hard or hardly work?"
[2] Airship terminal.
Well that's inconvenient. According to this posting, it looks like your flight has been delayed. "It'll probably be another two hours," a voice offers from behind you. One of your fellow travelers. She looks about 15 and isn't carrying much of anything besides the phone in her hand. She turns this towards you so you can see the screen. "There's a large storm brewing over west Yorbain."
[3] Outdoors (combat).
That is an enormous bird. By luck or intention, you've come across a fight in the middle of the woods between a little redheaded kid and a feathery monster, and she can't be more than a mouthful or two to it. She's moving awfully fast... but so is that bird.
Thwack! With a closed fist, she executes a firm thump near the base of its skull but it doesn't seem to do anything. Certainly nothing to slow the speed of the next beak strike. She rolls clear of it with a look of surprise and irritation.
Come by and mock? Lend a hand? If you get too much closer, you might get pecked too.

That's... definitely someone else's voice, but okay. Voice/text/video.
